Voice-Powered Outputs

Cortico offers a variety of conversation outputs to help our partners tell the story of their community and provide participants an impactful way to hear and be heard.

Highlights

Highlights are excerpts of conversations that participants identify as important or worth sharing. When creating a highlight, participants consider the following questions:

  • What parts of this conversation should a person hear to get a sense of what this group talked about?
  • What parts of this conversation could be played in a different conversation to foster understanding of the views and lives of this group?

Cortico Highlight

My ideal vision of a supportive school environment is a school environment that listens and doesn't try to find a common solution, because the common solution probably won't work for every student. Also, one who follows up with assessments, emotions, and any major points in a student's life that may or may not affect their growth in the future.

Something that specifically needs to be changed in order for this to happen; I feel like we need to hire dedicated and worthy staff. I feel like some people, it's just a job to them and it's not an impactful experience; it's like to a lot of people's lives. I feel like teachers don't understand that what you're teaching me, how you're treating me, how we are in this school environment, these are memories that last forever. I don't forget school experiences, how I was treated, what I've learned. Well, I could forget what I've learned if I wasn't treated the way I was supposed to. I feel like oftentimes kids stray from learning because we're dealing with emotions and trauma and all this other stuff that come with school, and I feel like it shouldn't. School should be a safe place where students could come and learn comfortably. But if you're coming into a school environment as a teacher trying to teach youth and you're not trying to relate or understand them, it's kind of a void there.

Portals

We work with partners to build interactive repositories of community voices. Going beyond traditional data outputs like bar graphs and pie charts, portals vividly illustrate the story of the stories, integrating voice-based visualizations that bring data to life.
